Helen's Fruit Dip

Using five simple ingredients, this dip recipe is the perfect, crowd-pleasing appetizer for any occasion.


  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened (best to do at room temp)
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 8-ounce container purchased whipped cream, softened if frozen


Preheat your oven to 450º. Scrub the skin of your russet potatoes. Dry with paper towel. Poke the potatoes several times all over with a fork. Rub lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt & pepper. Bake directly on the middle rack for 45 – 60 minutes. This will depend on the size and number of potatoes. Let stand for a few minutes. Cut down the middle and load with your favorite toppings.
