Grilled Onions

Simple but delicious, grilled onions are easy and bring out the unique flavor of each variety.

  • 1 whole onion, any color
  • Olive oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • Steak seasoning (optional)

Slice off a thin piece of the side of a whole, unpeeled onion. Set the onion flat on the cut surface for stability. Cut the onion into  four 1-inch thick slices. Remove the outer ring of skin from each slice. Drizzle the slices with olive oil and season both sides with steak seasoning or salt and pepper to taste. Grill on hot grill or on a nonstick griddle for five to seven minutes on each side until onion is tender and has begun to caramelize.

  • Add barbecue sauce 1-2 minutes before removing from grill.
