L&M offers greens from our east coast farms throughout the year. We grow kale, collards, turnips and mustard greens as well as some specialty items such as black or lacinato kale and organic kale.
Kale and, more recently, all greens have enjoyed a boom in popularity for its versatility and health benefits, such as high levels of Vitamin K which supports brain health and blood clotting. These greens are also high in calcium, potassium and folic acid.
A great tip for keeping greens fresh in the fridge is to put them in a plastic bag or container with a paper towel laid across the top and seal the container. Don’t rinse greens until you are ready to use them. When the towel absorbs moisture, you can replace it with a fresh, dry paper towel. Store in the crisping drawer of your refrigerator for up to a week.
